MEIC Metallurgy Laboratory Applications and Lab Solutions We carry out customer service pertinent to materials identification, coating evaluation, and corrosion assessment. Both low power and high power microscopy are used. Metallographic examination and scanning electron microscopy (including energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy) are applied, when required. |
State-of-the-art Microscopy Laboratory Scanning Electron Microscopes: SEM (with EDX) of metallic and non-metallic materials) 3-D Optical measurement and inspection 3-D Images and profiles: Examination of surface breaking defects, surface finish, roughness measurement, general topography, etc. on a diverse range of samples. |
MEIC specializes in: Coatings analysis and assessment Coating thickness, hardness Coating interface, Coating composition Corrosion testing and evaluation Material analysis identification (including structural analysis, etc.) Mechanical micro-hardness and macro-hardness Failure investigations High resolution polymer replication of materials for in-house evaluation Fire evaluation (e.g. steelwork to determine damage by fire) Failure investigations to components and for structures of both metallic and non-metallic materials, including work involving litigation. Weld monitoring Preventative maintenance Non-destructive testing of welded joints Use of weld polymer replication and penetrant flaw detection techniques |
